Tires and Wheel Sizes for Max Wedge and Race Hemi

There were variations of the tire and wheel sizes that were available for Max Wedge and Race Hemi cars. Listed below are the standard equipment tires and wheels for each year. Variations that were eventually equipped on actual build cars are mentioned briefly below the standard descriptions.

Standard Equipment:

62 Max Wedge - 7.50 x 14" black side wall rayon tire with 5" K wheel,
                          part # 2298522. Optional 9.00 x 14" black side wall
                          rayon tire with 14" x 6 1/2" K wheel, part # 2122468
                          for rear wheels only

63 Max Wedge - 7.50 x 14" black side wall rayon tire with 5" K wheel,
                          part # 2298522. Optional 9.00 x 14" black side wall
                          rayon tire with 14" x 6 1/2" K wheel, part # 2122468
                          for rear wheels only

64 Max Wedge - 7.50 x 14" black side wall rayon tire with 5" K wheel,
                          part # 2298522. Optional 9.00 x 14" black side wall
                          rayon tire with 14" x 6 1/2" K wheel, part # 2122468
                          for rear wheels only

64 Race Hemi - 7.50 x 14" black side wall rayon tire with 5" K wheel,
                          part # 2298522. Optional 9.00 x 14" black side wall
                          rayon tire with 14" x 6 1/2" K wheel, part # 2122468
                          for rear wheels only

65 Race Hemi - 7.75 x 14" black side wall rayon tire with 5 1/2" K wheel.
                          Optional 9.00 x 14" black side wall rayon tire with
                          14" x 6 1/2" K wheel, part # 2122468 or 15" x 6" K            
                          wheel for rear wheels only.

The standard equipment tires were always black side wall. You could however option for white wall tires of the same size at additional cost. As described above you could also option for larger rear wheel and tire sizes in both black wall and white wall styles. In Darrell Davis's books you can see the actual tires and wheels for each car built. You will notice there were many cars with optional tire and wheel variations ordered. To better understand the variations you will have to look in the passenger codes in Darrell's books. This section is in all of his books.
